Dorothy E. Schultz, 77, formerly of 14 E. Mosher St., Falconer, N.Y. went to be with her Lord on Saturday (Dec. 19, 2009), in WCA Hospital in Jamestown, N.Y. after a long illness. She was the widow of Julius C. ''Ike" Schultz whom she married Oct. 30, 1964, and who died Oct. 4, 1999.

Dorothy was born Aug. 8, 1932, in Smethport, Pa., to Walter C. and Adeline E. (Babcock) Benson Sr. She was raised on South Settlement Road near Kane, Pa. and attended the Greendale School until her move to Jamestown. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1951 and was an employee of the former De Bell Vending Co. for a number of years.

Dorothy was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Falconer. She loved spending time with her family and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, and bowling with her close friends. Dorothy was an outstanding cook.

In previous years she was actively involved in the Henry Mosher Post 638, American Legion Auxiliary, serving at various times as the post's Auxiliary President and was a former Chautauqua County American Legion Auxiliary Chairman. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and her many friends.

Mrs. Schultz is survived by her four sons, Kenyon W. ''Hoppy'' Hopkins of Falconer; Rolland C. ''Chuck'' Hopkins of Buffalo, N.Y.; Randall P. Hopkins of Kennedy, N.Y.; Jay C. Schultz of Jamestown; and by her two daughters, Lorell E. Meacham of Jamestown, and Suzanne O. Schultz of Falconer. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Christine M. Crick, Trisha E. Hopkins, Christina A. Nace, Andrew C. Schultz, Heather E. Meacham, Catherine A. Schultz, Jayden C. Schultz, Jesse C. Schultz, Jolee C. Schultz; and by five great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother Walter C. Benson Jr. in 1959 and her two sisters, Patricia M. Mathys in 1980 and Donna J. Schneider in 2009; and a granddaughter Lisa M. Meacham in 1997.
