KENNEDY, N.Y. — Randall Paul Hopkins, 66, of Second Street, Kennedy, passed away peacefully, Friday (Feb. 4, 2022) at home with his wife, Karen at his side, while under the care of hospice.
He was born Aug. 13, 1955. in Jamestown. the son of Kenyon V. Hopkins and the late Dorothy (Benson) Schultz.
He attended Falconer Central School and retired in 2021 from Jamestown Iron Works after 23 years of service as an iron molder. In earlier years, he had worked for Blackstone Corporation in Jamestown.
An accomplished horse shoe pitcher, Randy was a member of the Chautauqua County Horse Shoe Association and pitched at Falconer Park and the former Gold Star. He loved being outdoors and working in his lawn and out hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Karen M. (Young) Hopkins, whom he married on July 21, 2001, in Falconer; a son, Kyle (Mandy) Casto of Auburn, N.Y.; daughter, Sarah Casto of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; his father, Kenyon (the late Sandra) Hopkins of Falconer; twin grandsons: Stephen Michael Casto and Ethan Charles Casto; two fur babies: Carhartt and Dexter; and several nieces and nephews.
He is additionally survived by three sisters: Suzanne Schultz of Jamestown, Lorell Meacham of Buffalo, and Michelle (Trey) Hawkins of Falconer; three brothers: Jay (Lucy) Schultz of Jamestown, Rolland (Michael Eric Hund) C. Hopkins of North Carolina and Timothy (Karen) Hopkins of Celoron, N.Y.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy in 2009; stepfather, Julius Schultz in 1999, and a brother, Kenyon W. Hopkins in 2015.
As per Randy's wishes, visitation or services will not be observed.
