Birdie T. Horton services Friday---- Birdie Beatrice Tampleton - Horton of 209 South Burns died March 17 at Holdenville General Hospital at the age of 86 years.
Funeral services will be 10:30 Friday morning, March 20 at the East Main Church of Christ with pastor Larry Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Holdenville cemetery under the direction of Hudson Funeral Home.
She was born in Bilby to Maude Mae and James Oscar Ferrell on October 22, 1905 and spent most of her life in Hughes County. On April 6, 1926, she married William Marvin Tampleton. He preceded her in death March 15, 1967. She later married Bill Horton on June 1, 1973. He preceded her in death December 9, 1977. Also preceding her in death was a daughter Shirley Lou Tampleton.
She is survived by : three sons, Douglas Templeton of Maud; Doyle Tampleton of Holdenville and Deryl Tampleton of Cleo Springs; one daughter, Alpha Saunders of Holdenville; one brother Hester Ferrell of Mt. Pleasant, TX; three sisters, Ruth Hudson of Lehigh; Blanche Johnson of Lowell, Ark. and Dorothy Walden of Portland, Oregon; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Orville Ferrell.
