James F. Pierce
James F. PIERCE, 69, R.R. 1, Rochester, died at 2:10 a.m. Sunday in Woodlawn hospital. He had been ill 12 days.
Born Nov. 8, 1901, near Lafayette, he was the son of Fred and Tina BUSKIRK PIERCE. His marriage was Sept. 12, 1926, in Rocheter to Grace B. COOK, who survives. He had spent his entire life in this area and was a retired employee of Hartman Motors, Inc. He was a member of the First Baptist church here and a 40-year member of the I.O.O.F. lodge.
Also surviving are his mother, of Rochester; two daughters, mrs. Charles Lee (Lola) RIDDLE, R.R. 1, Argos; Mrs. Jack (Carol) HILL, R.R. 4, Rochester; one son, Gene [PIERCE], R.R. 1, Rochester; eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Glen (Leora) DUNLAP, Lehigh Acres, Fla.; Mrs. Harold (May) DICK, Tucson, Ariz.; one granddaughter and his father preceded in death.
Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Foster & Good funeral home. The Rev. Donald LAMBERT will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday where I.O.O.F. Lodge 47 will conduct memorial services at 8 p.m. The family has requested that memorials other than flowers be made to the Cancer fund.
