Fred A. Pierce
Fred A. PIERCE, 89, 1325 Madison street, died at 7 a.m. today in Woodlawn hospital, where he had been a patient two weeks. He had een ill four months.
A retired farmer, he was born Sept. 29, 1878, in Lafayette, the son of James and Mary BROWN PIERCE. His marriage was on Feb. 20, 1901, in Lafayette, to Tinna BUSKIRK, who survives. He was a member of he Meta Baptist church.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Leora) DUNLAP, Fort Wayne, and Mrs. H. J. (Edna May) DICK, Tucson, Ariz.; one son, James [PIERCE], Rochester; five gandchildren, including Mrs. Charles Lee RIDDLE, Argos, and Mrs. Jack HILL, R.R. 4, Rocheser; one gandson, Cliffod Jean PIERCE, ROCHESTER; eleven great-grandchildren; and one bother, Dora PIERCE, Pomona, Kan. One great-grandchild, one sister and one brother preceded in death.
Last rites will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Foster & Good funeral home. The Rev. Donald LAMBERT will officiate and burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Thursday.
