He was born in Cherokee County, S.C., to the late Charles "Charlie" Parker Sr. and Barbara Owens Parker of the home and was employed in the textile industry. He served in the Army, with a tour in Germany, and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Pam Zinck and husband, Wally, of Atlanta and Melissa Jones and husband, Charlie, of Shelby; two brothers, Rick Parker and wife, Anita, of Denver, and Mark Parker and wife, Susan, of Boiling Springs; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation: The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 7:30 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Funeral: Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel
