Laura Alice (Province) Gadd, 63 of Marietta, formerly of Byesville, died Saturday (Nov. 1, 2003) at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta. She was born March 6, 1940, in Wood County, W.Va., daughter of the late Harold and Mary (Milstead) Province. Mrs. Gadd was a former bookkeeper for The Salvation Army, where she was a member of the Ladies Home League. She was a member of Abundant Life Pentecostal Church in Cambridge. She enjoyed playing music, having played a variety of instruments. She also enjoyed singing, and had recorded many gospel tapes. She was preceded in death by a brother, Louie Province, and a sister, Mary Murphy. She leaves her husband, Tom Gadd, whom she married April 21, 1984; two step-sons, Tommy (Ginny) Gadd of Zanesville and Bryan (Jacquie) Gadd of Caldwell; three step-daughters, Tammy Gadd of Byesville, and Denise Gadd and Theresa Gadd both of California; two brothers, Harold Province of Byesville and Steve (Martha) Province of Cambridge; three sisters, Mrs. Bud (Diana) Dudley of Pleasant City, Mrs. Don (Charlene) Myers of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Mrs. Jim (Susan) Jeffrey of Buffalo; three grandchildren, Caleb, Rusty and Derrick; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Province of Cambridge; several nieces and nephews. Black Family Funeral Service, Byesville, handled the arrangements. Services were Wednesday at Abundant Life Pentecostal Church in Cambridge. The Rev. Jerry Blankenship officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville.
