LAST RITES HONOR CARL A. CURTIS, 67 Funeral services honoring Carl Andrew Curtis, 67, were held in Cooperton, Thursday of last week. The services were under the direction of the Cooperton LDS Ward, officiating, Bishop Ted W. Sandstrom. Family prayer was given by a brother, Martin W. Curtis. Prelude and postlude J. V. Freston. First speaker Elmo Nelson. Bishop Ted W. Sandstrom offered remarks. An organ solo was presented by Dennis W. Nichols and a vocal duet by Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Freston "Beyond the Sunset," accompanied by Dorene Freston. Benediction was offerered by Lynn Booth. Pallbearers were Edward Jenkins, Richard Densley, Dorrant Freston, Randy Freston, Jim Lee Jenkins and Cody Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers Keith F. Shosted, Ray C. Bills, Dave Stoker, Coy Curfee, Aage Mortensen, Clarence Camp, Leland Killpack, Boyd Freston, Robert E. Pullan. Grvae dedication was by Dee Jenkins. Flowers were arranged by the Copperton Ward Relief Society. Interment was in the Valley View Memorial Park. Mr. Curtis was born in Vernal October 25, 1905 to Carl and Martha Eunice Vernon Curtis. He married Ada Jenkins June 15, 1926 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a retired machinist from the Kennecott Copper Corp. for 47 years.
