Hazel D. Barbour [Gilmore]

GILMORE — Hazel Doris (Moore) Barbour, 93, formerly of Gilmore, died May 8, 2008, at Frostburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Barton, April 26, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Leonard H. Moore and Ella Mae (Shimer) Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Barney " Barbour; brothers, Alvie, Vincent and Cecil Moore; and sisters, Mae Brode, Mary Howell, Martha Fazenbaker and Elsie Jenkins.
Hazel was a former employee of Celanese Fibers Corp. and housekeeper at Al's Restaurant, Frostburg. Hazel loved her flowers, enjoyed quilting, crocheting and rug making. She was a member of Midland Grace Methodist Church. A surprise 93rd birthday celebration was held April 18 at the nursing home. It was given to her by her daughter and son-in-law and also her grandchildren. 38 people were in attendance.
Surviving are one daughter, Earlene Cutter and husband Ray, Midland; grandchildren, Tammy Joyce and husband Brian, Pittsburgh, Jeffrey Cutter and wife Ashley, Midland; great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Wren Cutter, Midland, Ireland and Dylan Joyce, Pittsburgh; sisters, Lucy Howell, Barton, Grace Humphrey, Cresaptown; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Fisher, Missouri, Ernestine Owens, Wheeling, W.Va.; brother, Lawrence Moore, Kitzmiller; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Fun-eral Home, P.A., Midland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home by the Rev. Harry Burchell.
Interment will be at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should go to Midland Grace Methodist Church, PO Box 87, Midland, MD; Midland Volunteer Fire Department, 20001 Union St., Midland, MD; or Georges Creek Ambulance Service, 19 Union St., Lonaconing, MD.
Pallbearers will be Brian Joyce, Dick Duckworth, Joe Jeffcoat, Bob Humphrey, Jeff Berkley and Joe Berkley. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Baker and Billy Long.
