Grace E. (Moore) Humphrey, 94, of Walkersville and formerly of Lonaconing, died Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the home of her grandson Bruce Humphrey, Florida.

Grace would have celebrated her 95th birthday on December 24th. She was the last surviving member of her family of eleven children.

Grace was the daughter of the late Leonard Harrison and Ella Mae (Shimer) Moore of Barton. Her husband, Gibson Leroy Humphrey died on May 5, 1991.

She is survived by her loving son, Bob Humphrey and wife Lois, whom she had been living with in Walkersville; grandsons, Greg and Michele Humphrey of New Market, MD and Bruce and Bethany Humphrey of St. Petersburg, FL and the love of her life, her great-grandsons, Bauer and Bodie Humphrey.

Grace leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. She had some very special friends as well, Judy Fogel, Betty Evans, Patience Harrison and Linda Harrison.

All her life she was a homemaker. There wasn't one thing she couldn't do. She loved to plant her flowers, crochet (anything you wanted) and make quilts. She also loved to bake pies, cakes and don't forget the fudge.

She attended the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing and was a member of the Walkersville United Methodist Church Shawl Ministries, Walkersville. She enjoyed preparing dinners with the Goodwill Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She donated her time to the Frederick Memorial Hospital crocheting hats for babies and cancer patients.

Family and friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from 6-8PM. A funeral service will be held at he funeral home on Wednesday, October 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Bruce Humphrey officiating. Interment will be held at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone. A luncheon will be held at the Midland Fire Hall following the service.

Pallbearers will be Clinnie Biggs, Greg Humphrey, Brian Joyce, Ray Cutter and Dick Jenkins and Robert Brode.
