Marjorie A. Sorensen, 79, of Fremont, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008 at the Arbor Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Arlington Community Church. Interment will be in the Arlington Cemetery.

Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the church on Saturday, one hour prior to services.

Marjorie A. Shamburg was born Aug. 20, 1928 in Blair to Kenneth and Marjorie (Blomquist) Shamburg. She grew up in Blair, and lived there until her marriage to Merle E. Sorensen on Dec. 3, 1955 in Arlington. The couple then lived and farmed east of Arlington until the late 1970s, when they moved into Arlington.

Mrs. Sorensen was a member of Arlington Community Church and was active in the Over 60 Center in Arlington.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth “Pat” and Lila Shamburg of Lincoln; a sister, Judy Young of Topeka, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle in June 1987; and three brothers, Thomas, James and Vincent Shamburg.

Memorials are suggested to the Arlington Community Church.
