Mrs. Sarah Grills Dies, Funeral to Be Friday
Sarah L. (Sally) Grills, daughter of early day Montana homesteaders and life-long resident of Cascade County.
Born Feb. 29, 1892 at Cascade, Montana to Mr. and Mrs. James Ward Austin. Moved to Great Falls about 1924 after the death of her first husband, Charles Ackroyd. She married William Grills, Jr. in Great Falls on June 25, 1930. After his death in 1934 she worked as a waitress at Little Lanes and Falls Maide restaurants, retiring about 1945.
Longtime member of the West Side Methodist Church, Eagles Auxiliary and the Hotel and Restaurant Employees Local No. 101.
Survived by 3 daughters, two brothers, 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceded by a son, Charles William Ackroyd in 1934.
