He was born in Newell, Pa. Fayette County, June 13, 1911, a son of the late Peter and Vera (Orler) Sweitzer.
On January 20, 1934, in Everett, he was married to Ida (Brown-Pepple) Sweitzer who survives along with two daughters: Joy Lee, wife of William Caro of Everett: and Mamie, wife of Roger Duvall, of R.D.3, Everett.
Six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive along with one brother, William Sweitzer of Ambridge, Pa.: and three sisters, Marie, wife of Virgil Romito, Sr. of Hopewell, Va.: Evelyn, wife of Homer Hall, of R.D.2, Everett: and Mrs. Virginia Falcone, of Westminster, Md.
Mr. Sweitzer was a member of the Everett Church of the Brethren, Improved Order of Redmen, Wambic Tribe #507 of Everett, an associate member of American Legion Post # 8 of Everett, served as constable in West Providence Township for over 25 years, was employed by the Penna. Turnpike Commission during construction, and was a retired farmer.
Funeral services: Saturday, November 24, at 2:30 p.m. in Conner-Dalla Valle Funeral Chapel in Everett, with Rev. Robert Alley and Rev. Kenneth Hershey officiating. Burial in Everett Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
