Henry G. Gardner, Sr., 70 year old retired foreman for American Radiator & Standard Sanitary Corporation, died at 10:50 a.m. Thursday at SS. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. He lived at 5356 New Cut Road. Gardner had worked for Standard Sanitary 25 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Emma Burke; six daughters, Mrs. Viola Sidebottom, Mrs. Ruth Bailey, Mrs. Clara Kelly, Mrs. Ann Lindauer, Mrs. Shirley Burke, and Mrs. Jean Kleinhelter; two sons, Henry G., Jr., and James Gardner; two sisters, Mrs. Sallie Vermillion and Mrs. Catherine Spayd; a brother, Richard Goebel Gardner; 24 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The body is at Nunnelley Funeral Home, 4327 Taylor Boulevard.

Gardner; devoted father of Mrs. Viola Sidebottom, Mrs. Ruth Bailey, Mrs. Clara Kelly, Mrs. Ann Lindauer, Mrs. Jean Kleinhelter, Mrs. Shirley Burke, Mr. James (Bud) Gardner and Mr. Henry G. (Jack) Gardner, Jr.; brother of Mrs. Sally Vermillion, Mrs. Catherine Spayd and Mr. Richard Goebel Gardner; also survived by 24 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Mr. Gardner is resting at the Nunnelley Funeral Home, 4327 Taylor Blvd. Services from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Monday, February 20th, at 9:30 a.m. Interment Evergreen Cemetery. Members of the Parish of Mt. Carmel Church will gather at the funeral home, Sunday, 7:30 p.m. to recite the Rosary.
