A life-long resident of Paradise, Moody was born there on March 31, 1909. He was a farmer. He married the former Eva Read in Alvord on December 18, 1927.
Rev. Don Caldwell of Evadale and Rev. Joe Motsenbocker of Paradise officiated at the funeral. Burial was at Paradise Cemetery. Pallbearers were Carl Caruthers, Richard Kelley, Pat Easley, J. H. Moody, Emmett and Clarence (Corky) Guffee. Donald Helton was honorary pallbearer.
Moody is survived by his wife, Eva Moody of Paradise; one son, Harold (Jack) Moody of Paradise; three daughters, Jannie Lou Meadows of Cottondale, Betty Livengood of Cottondale and Carolyn Weatherly of Chico; three sisters, Ruth Caruthers of Paradise, Mildred Kelley of Paradise and Opal Guffee of Floydada; 8 grandchildren, one great grandson, and a host of nieces and nephews.
