GRANITE FALLS - George Pinkney Lail, 97, of Rt. 1, Granite Falls, died Tuesday night at his home following a lengthy illness.
Born June 15, 1881, in Caldwell County he was a son of Timothy and Caroline Sasser Lail. Lail a retired farmer, was married to the former Lindsay Fisher who died June 5, 1977.
The funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Dudley Shoals Baptist Church. The Rev. Donald Ingle and the Rev. J.B. McLendon? will conduct the services. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Mackie High Funeral Home from 7 until 9 o'clock tonight.
Surviving are three sons, Leroy, Glenn and Arnold Lail of Granite Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Carrie Aaron of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Julius Lail of Alexander County; 20 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.
