Mrs. Mary Pittenger of this city died quite suddenly Sunday morning, at the home in Auburn of her son John where she had gone for a visit. Coroner Haslitt was called and pronounced the cause of death heart disease.
Mary E. Downs was born February 17, 1845, in this county. On September 5, 1865, she was married to Abraham Pittenger, who died last May. To them were born 5 children of who 3 survive also 19 grandchildren and one sister. She was a member of the Christian church of Marshall. Funeral services were held at Auburn yesterday conducted by J.A. Sweet; interment in the Auburn Cemetery.
