She was the youngest of five children: Giles E., James Solomon, John Oscar, Emma Josephine and "Meda".

Meda married Edward Louis McCarty about 1905 at Clark County. They had four known children: Herschel Marshall; Myrtle Thelma; Milford Doyle and Paul Jones. Myrtle and Paul died early and were unmarried.
Her husband, Ed, died when Paul was about a year old and Almeda lived a widow for the remainder of her life.
She was buried 28 January 1947.
