Bernice Estelle DeMarr Richards, 91, of Waldorf died Sept. 11, 2009.
She loved to cook, sew and do needlework and watch soap operas.
Born Sept. 11, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Norman and the late Ida DeMarr.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Richards; and children, Shirley Mae Richards and Albert Henry Richards, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Martha E. Hull, Dorothy V. Vest, James E. Richards Jr. and his wife, Shirley E. Richards, Rebecca E. Hallman and her husband, Thomas M. Hallman and Benson L. Richards and his wife, Debra Richards; daughter-in-law, Penny Richards Hubbell; and sister, Ella Mae DeMarr.
She had 26 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation and prayers were Sept. 15 at Huntt Funeral Home, Waldorf, where a service was held Sept. 16. Burial took place at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, James E. Richards III, Earl J. Richards, John W. Richards, George S. Kohlieber, Lewis R.
