Ella Mae “Tommy” DeMarr, 91 of Brandywine, MD passed away at UM Charles Regional Center in La Plata, MD on May 31, 2018.

Ella was born to Norman Henry DeMarr & Ida Mae Thompson DeMarr, on her family’s old Charles County tobacco farm; there was no other place she would rather be.

She took pride in keeping to the old way of doing things, time tested methods & traditions. The love of her life for 65 years was Margaret Gettic, her soulmate, she also enjoyed watching the crops grow from her front porch, listening to country and bluegrass music.

She enjoyed Sunday or any day visits from family and friends, sharing stories from the old days, gardening, fishing and eating crabs.

Ella was predeceased by her father, mother and 13 siblings. Her brothers were John, H. Benson, Bernard L., Frederick F. and Henry S. DeMarr. Her sisters were Margaret R., Elsie M., Florence V., Bernice, Elsie, Tiny Baby (infant), Mildred H. and Hilda C.

Family will receive friends for Ella’s Life Celebration Visitation on Tuesday, June 5th from 5 to 8pm at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, June 6th at 12 Noon at the Brinsfield Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601.
