Stanley L. Pickering, 77, died peacefully, Feb.23, 2008 at his home in Brookville, Ks. He was born Nov. 5, 1930 in Salina, KS. the son of Robert J. and Margaret Mason Pickering.

He served in the U.S. Navy and was an ironworker supervisor for over 22 years. Most recently, he owned and operated Window Screen Manufacturing company for over 32 years and was a NW Distrubutor of Phantom Retractable Screen Doors.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Robert, Harold & Alex and three sisters; Katherine Bachofer, Marv Jane Swanson, & Virginia Shivers.

He is survived by his spouse of 30 years, Carol L. Pickering, of Woodinville, WA & Brookville, KS; his sons: Gregory L. Pickering and Samuel D. Pickering, his daughters: Linda L. Pickering, Sandra K. Dodson, Catherine E. Sims, Kimberly M. Pickering, step daughters, Pennie M. Pickering, & Jody L. Lentz all of the Seattle, WA area. He has three sisters: Helen Sweeny, Salina; Avis Ringle, Leon, KS and Nancy Mosburg, Bonner Springs , Ks. ; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Vigil services will be held on Wednesday evening , Feb. 27 at 6 :00 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1000 Burr Oak Lane, Salina, Ks. 67401.

Friends may call at the Ryan Mortuary on Wednesday from noon until 4:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday morning at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.

Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
