Else Marie Olesdatter was born in Klitten, Asdal, Hjorring, Denmark on April 26, 1856 to Ole and Else Marie Pedersdatter Kristensen.

Marie had 11 siblings. In addition to her, 8 siblings lived -at one time or another-in Nuckolls County, NE:
Kristen "Kren" Olsen, Christian Olesen, Maren Knudsen, Christiana Petersen, Elvine Jeppesen, Dusine Nelson/Iversen.
For a short time two of her brothers lived in Ruskin but then moved to Washington State: Martinus Olsen Klitten and
Peter Oleson. Another sister, Anne Olesdatter Johnson, came to America but lived in Otero County. Two sisters. Hannah & Oline remained in Denmark.

Marie traveled to America in 1875 and married J.C. Fredriksen on July 7th, 1875. They lived in Riverton, Iowa; Lancaster County, Neb.; Nuckolls County, Neb.; just over the county line into Thayer County, Neb.(living there 20 years); then back to Ruskin, Nuckolls County in 1910.

To this union 17 children were born:

"Another one of the pioneers has passed into eternity.
Marie Olsen was born in Hjorring, Denmark, in 1856; came to Riverton, Iowa, the 9th of May, 1875. She was married to J.C. Fredricksen July 7 of the same year. They lived in Iowa three months, and came to Lancaster county (sic), this state, and lived there three years. From there they came to Nuckolls county (sic), lived there four years, then moved across the line into Thayer county (sic), living there twenty years Then they moved back to Nuckolls county (sic), where Mrs. Fredricksen spent the remainder of her life. During the year 1910 Mr. and Mrs. Fredricksen with the unmarried children moved to Ruskin. To this union seventeen children were born. The husband and fourteen remain to mourn their loss. Six children and the father were at her beside when she passed away February 15, at 8:15 p.m., all the other children being present only a short time before to bid her good bye."
