Peder Olesen is born 29 November 1865 in the village of Klitten, Asdal Parish, Hjorring, Denmark. He is the youngest of 13 children born to Ole Christensen and Else Marie Petersen.
Following his siblings, Peder emigrates from Denmark to the United States in 1880 and lives with family in Ruskin, Nuckolls, Nebraska for a season.
Moving west, Peder works as a miner in Colorado and later in northern Idaho.
In May 1911 he marries Lillie Mae Smith Dawson, a widow, in Spokane, Washington.
Peder modifies his birth name to include his home village of Klitten as well as anglicize his first and last name.
Peter and Lillie Mae farm in Yakima County, Washington for 30 plus years, first in Sunnyside and later in the area of Brownstown.
Children born of Peter and Lillie are Helen, Fern, Raymond and Ralph.
In 1942 Peter and Lillie retire and live in the city of Yakima. They are members of The Stone Church (Assemblies of God).
