Amanda Lillian Richardson Beelar Obit

Amanda Lillian Richardson was born on a homestead in Seward County May 31, 1873 and died at her home in Beaver Crossing, October 12, 1956 at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 12 days.

She was united in marriage to William Beelar September 4, 1894. To this union eight children were born. Her husband and four children preceded her in death. Surviving are one daughter, Vera of Nebraska City, and three sons, Clifford of York, Louis and Clyde of Beaver Crossing one son-in-law and three daughter-in-law, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. After marriage the couple lived in Arkansas one and a half years then came to Nebraska then to Oklahoma in 1899. In 1914 they returned to Nebraska where her husband passed away and in Seward County where she has continued to live. She united in membership with the Methodist Church in 1906. Upon returning to Nebraska she placed her membership in the Pentecostal church. At the time of her death she was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Nebraska City.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon October 14th in the Beaver Crossing Methodist Church conducted by Rev. E. B. Steward, Pastor, assisted by Rev. Silas Miller a longtime friend of the family. Burial was made in the Pleasant View Cemetery in the Milford Community. Music was provided by Mrs. Clarence Sonday at the piano and Miss Marguerite Ahlschwede who sang, All the Way My Savior Leads Me and We are Going Down the Valley, One by One. Pallbearers were Con Recking, Jake Zimmer, Martin Brockham, Norval Crowder and Wilbur Miller. Ushers were Homer Miller and Carl Paulson.
