Vera E. Steckly Williams, 90, Visalia, Calif., died Friday, July 2, 1993, at Visalia.
She was born June 5,1903, in Fay, Okla., to William and Amanda
(Richardson) Beelar.
She married Eli Steckly in Milford on Oct. 28, 1920. Following Mr. Steckly's death in 1938, she was employed at Cushman Manufacturing in Lincoln.
On Jan. 28, 1943, she married Laurance B. Williams in Nebraska City, and in later years worked at Earl May Garden Center in Nebraska City.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Eli Steckly in 1938, and
Laurance Williams in 1980; and seven brothers, Earl, Ralph, Berl, Carl,
Clyde, Cliff and Louis Beelar.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Leland
Everett Mission, Texas, and Shirley and John Scroggins, Visalia, Calif.;
sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Loraine Steckly, Nebraska City, and Gerald and Cecelia Steckly, Beaver Crossing; son, Dale Steckly, and his
friend, Sharon Martin, Lincoln; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren
and 12 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Vera Beelar, York, and
Libby Beelar, Dorchester.
Graveside services were Friday, July 9, at Pleasant View Cemetery in rural Milford with the Rev. K. Dan Teachout officiating. Memorials to family.
