Doris H. Wellman, the daughter of Tyre Pettis and Eva (Brown) White, was born on Tuesday, January 11, 1921 at Rizerville, Iowa. On August 17, 1940, she was united in marriage to Harold R. Wellman at Unionville, Missouri. Harold died February 4, 1985 in Oskaloosa. Doris worked at Ideal Manufacturing Company in Oskaloosa for 30 years. On Tuesday, December 23, 2008, Doris dies at the Mahaska Hospital at the age of 87. She is survived by two sons and a daughter: Rex (Linda) Wellman of Dubuque, Ron (Betty) Wellman of Pella, Jeannette (Bill) Livezey of New Sharon; a son-in-law Rick (Karen) Courtney of Oskaloosa; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and a sister, Goldie Marshall of California. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold (1985), her daughter Karen Irene Courtney (1987), four sisters: Bess Rhoads, Myrtle Wellman, Ruby Billingsley and Iona "Ike" Gwinn. Services were held Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa. Service by Pastor Alvern Boetsma from Good News Chapel, and Interment is near Tracy, Iowa at Bellefountaine Cemetery.
