ALBIA - Tyre P. White, 79, retired coalminer and railroad employee, died at 5 a.m. Sunday at Monroe county hospital.
Born at Sedalia, Mo, in 1878, he has lived in Albia since 1902. His marriage to Eva Brown took place September 11, 1902. She survives with six daughters, Mrs. Beth Rhoads and Mrs. Doris Wellman of Oskaloosa, Mrs. Myrtle Wellman of Albia, Mrs. Ruby Billingsley of Kinsua, Ore., Mrs. Goldie Marshall of Des Moines and Mrs. Iona Gwinn of Kansas City. There are 36 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. A daughter Lucille and a son Billey preceded their father in death. He leaves a brother, William White of Sacramento, California.
The service will take place at Downs Memorial Chapel Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., conductd by the Rev. Dewey Lalk of the Albia Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Lockman cemetery northeast of Albia.
Pleasant Divide cemetery is also know as Seceder.
