CLAUDE B. SHIVELY DIES AT ELWIN FARM-Claude Byrd Shively, 83, of near Elwin, died at 8 a.m. yesterday on the farm where he was born and had lived all his life. Mr. Shively retired as a farmer about 10 years ago. He was a member of the Methodist church of Elwin, and served on the church board. He was born March 31, 1874. He was married Dec. 20, 1894 in Elwin to Lizzie Loretta Elder, who died in 1947. Surviving are a son, Claude E., Warrensburg; daughter, Mrs. Guy Purdue, Elwin; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. One daughter and four bothers and sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, where friends may call after 4 p.m. today. Burial will be in Mount Gilead Cemetery.
