Emily Alice Ellington was the daughter of John Ellington (1778 - 1825) and Obedience "Beedy" Harrison-Jones. The seventh of eleven children that included Elizabeth b 1806; Martha Ann b. 1808; David Dewi b. 1810; John Jeremiah b. 1812; Josephine b. 1816; Justina b. 1818; Mary b. 1820; Parthenia b. 1822; Authenia b. 1824; and Carolina b. 1826.

Emily married William Easley in Calhoun County, Alabama, USA 7 Sep 1836 at the age of 16. Emily and William were blessed with nine children: John Ellington Easley b. 1837; Singleton Lafayette Easley b. 1839; William Elbert Easley b. 1841; James Speer Easley b. 1843; Frances Florida Easley b. 1846; George Washington Easley b. 1847; Thomas Henry Easley b. 1850; Emma Harrison Easley b. 1852 and Alice K Easley Bowen b. 1854.

She was born in Abbeville County, South Carolina 27 Dec 1819. She migrated to Douglassville, Texas, USA with her daughter Sarah Jane and her family in Sep 1865 at the age of 45.

She was 68 years old when she died in Hardeman County, Texas in 1887. She is buried in Greenwood Cemetery; Dallas, Texas.
