Obituary.
James A. Amon was born in Pennsylvania Dec. 8, 1860 [sic] and died in holy Christian triumph at his home near Kirksville, Jan. 17, 1914.
He was united in matrimony with Emma Scrivens in 1880 and to them were born six children: Mrs. R. C. Lowe of Adair Co., Mrs. Harry Lowe of Watonga. Okla., Roy, Allen and Willard who remain at home and Mrs. Eula Garwood, deceased.
Mr. Amon had been a sufferer for about three years past and much of the time his days and nights were full of pain yet he bore it all with exemplary patience. He was a kind father, a good neighbor and a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
The funeral services were conducted at Regfue [sic] by Rev. C. N. Wood of Lancaster a long-time friend and former pastor and a large concourse of friends and neighbors followed the body to the grave.
Kind hands and loving care could not keep him, but heaven will be his home forevermore. His bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy of many friends.
