Alva Bilderback of 785 McConnell died at 7:15 last night at Kennedy Veterans Hospital after a long illness. He was 70. Born in Millersburg, Ohio, Mr. Bilderback came to Memphis in 1937. He retired in 1956 as a foreman at Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. He was a Mason, a Methodist. He was also a veteran of World War I, serving with the Army in Belgium, France and Germany. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Gladys Bilderback, two brothers, Bernard Bilderback of Akron, Ohio, and Waldo Bilderback of Orrville, Ohio, and a sister, Mrs. Mable Miller or Orrville.
