Services were held in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Bessie Lee Vaughn, 73, who died in Benton Harbor, Mich., Sunday, July 1. Mr. Edmund Cagle officiated and burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery.
She was born at Steele October 24, 1899, and on April 3, 1920, in Caruthersville, was married to Johnny Vaughn. Mr. Vaughn and one child preceded her in death. She lived most of her life in Pemiscot County and was a member of the Church of Christ in Hayti.
She leaves five sons, Harley Vaughn of Hayti, Lewis Vaughn of Hartford, Mich., Mack Vaughn of Blytheville, T.J. and James Vaughn of Poplar Bluff; four daughters, Mrs. Hazel Handley of Poplar Bluff, Mrs. Maxine Fleming of Benton Harbor, Mrs. Tennie Evett and Mrs. Ella Danis of Coloma, Mich.; one sister, Mrs. Drewie Robbins of Gainesville, Mo.; 34 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
