Thomas G. Prater, 82, of Shelbyville, died at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday [Aug. 2, 1988] in the Shelby Memorial Home in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Lockart and Sons Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial in Mound Cemetery in Cowden. Memorials: Donor's choice.
He was born in Cowden, Il. Jan. 7, 1906, the son of Ellis and Lena Nance Prater. He married Vesta Miller May 29, 1925 in Cowden and she preceded him in death July 8, 1987.
Surviving is one son, Robert G. Prater of Decatur; sisters, LaVeda Andrews of Cowden and Lois Mazzetti of Chicago; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Two sisters preceded him in death.
