Jesse N. Blake, 83, Muscatine, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at his home.
The Rev. Jerry Foote will officiate the services. Casket bearers are Jeff Blake, Jayson Blake, Jon Blake, Joshua Blake, Jeremy Blake and Jana Blake. Honorary casket bearers are Adam Starkweather and Mike Esmoil. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Online condolences may be left for the Blake family at www.wittichfuneralhome.com. Mr. Blake was born Jan. 3, 1921, in Muscatine, the son of Jesse and Maude Tucker Blake. He married Helen Baars Nov. 12, 1942, at Fort Bragg, N.C. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked at Muscatine Pearl Works, the Corps of Engineers, Roach and Musser Millwork, and he retired in 1983 after 37 years with Grain Processing Corp. He was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge No. 388. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jack Blake of Muscatine and Tom Blake and wife Debbie of Muscatine; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sylvia Ahlf and Wilma Huffman, both of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and five sisters.
