Raymond O. Haynes, 61, passed away Sunday evening, October 4, 1992, at his home near Edwards. He was born at Macksville, Kansas, on August 3, 1931, the son of Harry F. and Sylvia Larkey Haines.
He grew up in Osceola, moving to Vernon County in 1939. He served in the United States Army from October 24, 1950, until October 23, 1953.
On October 16, 1955, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Hurley at Liberty, Missouri. Following their marriage, they made their home in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service from 1955 until he retired in 1979. At that time, they moved to their home near Edwards.
He was a member of the Branch 30 National Association of Letter Carriers.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Haynes and Darrel Haynes.
He is survived by the wife, Marjorie, of the home; two sons, Donald Haynes of Warrensburg, Missouri, Randy Haynes of Odessa, Missouri: three daughters, Sherri Schrand, Kansas City, Missouri, Linda Partridge, Gladstone, Missouri, Jean Lloyd of Warsaw; six brothers, Virgil Haynes of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Edwin Haynes of Bradleyville, Missouri, Earl Haynes of Loma Linda, California,Dale Haynes of Crestline, California, Bobby Haynes of Sumter, South Carolina; three sisters, Velma Brown of Anaheim, California, Elsie Boyd of Buena Park, California, and RIta Hall of Bonner Springs, Kansas; seven grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Raymond O. Haynes were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 1992, at the Reser Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rick DeWitt officiating.
Pallbearers were Bill Gant, Larry Shoemake, J.M. Johns, Kymn Huck, Jimmy Johns and Jeff Johns.
Burial was in the Climax Springs Cemetery.
