Charles H.Gillis, 71 passed away Friday at his home, R.R.1., Lakeville, afternoon an illness of seven weeks. He was born to Lewis and Angeline (Mangum) Gillis February 17, 1881, in St. Joseph County, Indiana, and had spent all his life near the County Line community where he had been a farmer. He married February 6, 1908, to Lizzie LONGAKER, who survives him. He was a member of the County Line Brethren Church. Besides his widow, he is survived by one son, Everett Gillis of Lakeville; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two half-sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Bastle of South Bend and Mrs. Ida Mangun of New Carlisle. One son preceeded him in death. Friends may call at the Danielson and VanGFilder Funeral home until noon Monday. The body will lie in state from noon until 2 p.m. in the County Line Brethren Church. Burial will be in the County Line Cemetery.
