Mary Ruth Fogle, daughter of Edwin and Hattie (Sutton) Pedigo, was born October 12, 1914, near Downing, and died Thursday, April 1, 1993, in a Kirksville, Mo., hospital at the age of 78 years.
She was married to John Alonzo Fogle on October 12, 1933. To this union three daughters were born. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1976.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; a step-son, Roscoe Fogle; a son-in-law, Llewlyn Righardson; two brothers, Everett Pedigo and Johnnie Lee Pedigo; and one sister, Cleo Thrasher.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Jack (Barbara) Ross, Downing, Patricia Richardson, Hattiesburg, Miss., and Mrs. Wayne (Marilyn) Hope, Flower Mound, Tex.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two nephews, Kenneth Thrasher, Memphis, Mo., and Eddie Pedigo, of California; and one niece Wanda Bartalome.
She was a lifetime resident of the Downing area. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, and Downing Community Christian Church.
Services were held Sunday, April 4, 1993, in Norman Funeral Home, Downing, with David Barton officiating. Music was provided by Virginia Lewis, organist and Brenda Aeshliman and Gloria Fincher, soloists. Special selections were "Face To Face" and "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow."
Bearers were Vaughn Ruth, Jack Oliver, H. Middleton, Billy Beeler, Jum Baxter, and Tim Antal.
Burial was in Downing Cemetery.
