Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at First Baptist Church in Montgomery. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Montgomery.
He is survived by his wife, Ardell DuBois Graves of Houma; one son, Wayne Graves of Houma; one sister, Vernell Cox of Natchitoches; three grandchildren, Daphne Havis, Jeffrey Graves and Trey Graves; and three great-grandchildren, Brandon Havis, Trevor Havis and Dustin Graves.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Elizabeth Hoob Graves; six brothers, Claude, Arse, Hurshell, Lloyd, Harman and Bo Graves; and three sisters, Anie Mae Gorum, Rose Brown and Lucy Laysonne [sic Lasyone].
He was a retired mechanic for Halliburton after 25 years, a member of the Masonic Unity Lodge No. 267 F&AM, an ordained deacon since May 21, 1961 and a member of First Baptist Church in Houma.
