Funeral services for Harold Ahrenstorff, of St. James, will be 11:00AM, Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Butterfield with Pastor Jim Renz officiating.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in St. James. Visitation will be Monday at the Sturm Funeral Home in St. James from 5:00PM until 7:00PM and on Tuesday from 7:30AM until 8:30AM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the services at the Church.
Harold Ahrenstorff passed away on Friday, August 3, 2007 at the Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James at the age of 75 years.
Harold Walter Ahrenstorff was born on the family farm in rural Butterfield on August 18, 1931 to parents Walter and Hilda (Jacobs) Ahrenstorff. Harold was raised on the family farm where he lost his arm in a corn picker accident at the age of 17.
He was confirmed at St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church and attended school in Butterfield.
On September 10, 1950 he was united in marriage to Dorothy L. Marker at Sherburn. The couple made their home on the family farm in Butterfield.
They moved to St. James in 1989 and Harold became a resident at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in February 2005.
He enjoyed woodworking and camping but most of all enjoyed time spent with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Wilbur Marker and brother-in-law Lorimer King.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ahrenstorff of St. James, sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Colleen Ahrenstorff of Alexandria, Brad and Karen Ahrenstorff of Lake Crystal, Curt and Jen Ahrenstorff of St. Clair, mother-in-law, Polly Marker of Trimont, grandchildren, Jessica, Tyler, Kelly (Jim Othoudt), Katie, Shayne, Kyle, step-grandchildren, Sarah, Mary, Josh and Chelsea, and a sister, Ardyce King of Redwood Falls.
The family would like to thank the staff at Pleasant View for their loving care.
