Eakly Pioneer Dies; Services Held Last Week.

EAKLY-Last rites for Cyrus Moore were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, at the Eakly Methodist church with Rev. Jesse E. Haney, pastor, officiating and rev. Luther Skaggs assisting. Interment was in the Eakly cemetery with the Alfalfa I.O.O.F. in charge.
Moore, well known as "Uncle Cy," had been a resident of the Eakly community for over 60 years. He and his wife were in the hotel and cafe business in Eakly in the pioneer days. He was born March 13, 1865, in Missouri, and died November 25 at the age of 92 years, eight months and 12 days. He was married to Rose Ellen Hale, who preceded him in death about ten years ago. He was a member of the Eakly Methodist church and of the Alfalfa IOOF. He had been an IOOF lodge member for 65 years.
Survivors are: one son, Ray Moore of Eakly; one daughter, Mrs. Paul Lacy of Calumet; and one brother, Lune Moore; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Two sons, Fred and Claudie preceded him in death.
