Charlie Lawrence Adams, 80, of Grubbs, Arkansas died Tuesday, May 14, 2002 at is home.

He retired from the Arkansas Highway Dept. in 1982 with 22 years of service. He was a commercial fisherman and a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Elvira {Elva} Duree - Adams, his wife Mary Louise Adams, eight children, and five brothers.

Mr. Adams is survived by nine sons, Tommy, Allen, Edward, Benny, Lloyd, and Douglas Adams, all of Grubbs, Arkansas. Lawrence Adams of Beedeville, Arkansas; Jimmy and Terry Adams of Oil City, La. Four daughters: Freda Thornton, Uvel Williford, Wilma Tubbs and Shawna Benskin, all of Grubbs, Arkansas; one brother Johnny Adams of Newport, Arkansas; one sister Ruby Whitney of Pitts, Arkansas; 27 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held a 10:00 a.m. Thursday, at Grubbs First Baptist Church.

Interment in Ballews Chapel Cemetery in Grubbs, Arkansas. Funeral arrangements by Dillinger Funeral Home.
