Mr. Vernon Douglas Adams, of Weiner, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday July 10, 2015 at the age of 54. He was born March 11, 1961 in Harrisburg, the son of Charley Lawrence Adams and Mary Louise (Hallmark) Adams.

Mr. Adams was a farmer and worked for Riceland Foods. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

Mr. Adams will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was always helping others and “Mr. Johnny on the spot” to do what was needed. He was very friendly and enjoyed being around others. Mr. Adams loved to grill working in scrap metal. He also worked on lawn mower motors. He loved fishing and being outdoors.

Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his father, Charley Adams and his mother Mary (Hallmark) Adams, three brothers, Charles Adams, Tommy Adams and Allen Adams, one sister Shawna (Adams) Pierce, and eight infant siblings.

He is survived by six brothers, Lawrence Adams of Beedeville, Jimmy Adams and Terry Adams of Oil City, Louisiana, Edward Adams, Benny Adams of Grubbs and Lloyd Adams of Weiner. Three sisters, Freda Thornton, Uvel Williford of Weiner, and Wilma Tubbs of Grubbs, and one Aunt Ruby Whitney.

Visitation is Tuesday July 14, 2015 12 p.m. to 2:00 pm., with graveside services following at Ballew’s Chapel Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are James Jones, Albert Jones, Ed Mahan, Jr, Dennie Brownfield, Henry Brownfield, Matt Adams and Chris Spalding. Honorary pallbearers are Nicholas Spradling and Brandon Spradling.
