Deseret Evening News, Saturday, January 4, 1919:
"CHARLES NEWSON - At the family residence, 638 W. Third N., January 4, 1919, of Brights Disease. Charles Newson born July 15, 1864 in England and a resident of Salt Lake City for the past 47 years, where he followed his trade as a machinist, being a member of the firm of Newson Brothers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Twenty-eighth ward chapel. Friends are invited. The body will be on view on the day of the funeral at the family residence from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Interment in City Cemetery. Deceased leaves a wife, seven sons, and three daughters."

Married: Susan Annie Smith Newson, August 16, 1889, in the Logan LDS Temple.

Children: Robert Charles, Sidney George, Frederick Manasseh, Charles Ellis, Avery Bradlaugh, Louis Smith, and Clarence William Newson; and Alice Louise Newson Knox, Susan Annie Newson Huggard, and Ruth Marie Newson Lloyd.

(Discrepancy in birth year as 1864 on his death certificate and grave marker, but as 1863 on his certified copy of birth record from the London Registrar Office. The certified copy of birth for Charles' twin brother, Robert is also given as 1863.)
