On Monday, May 28, 1917 about twelve o'clock, the spirit of Jewell Little, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. I. Little, took its flight to a better world.

Jewel was born Dec. 20, 1897. She was a bright and promising young girl. At the age of 17 she professed faith in Christ and united with the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where she remained a consistent member until death. Just why God called her home so early we cannot understand; but He had a purpose and we know that he doeth all things well. She leaves a mother, father, five sisters, five brorhers and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her death. Why should we mourn? She was prepared to meet her God. Let us also be ready, for we know not at what moment death will lay his icy hand upon us. Friends, are you ready to go?

Weep not, relatives and friends. Jeweil is free from toil and care: she is resting, sweetly resting, safely on that peaceful shore,
An old playmate and friend.
