Born in Swandale, WV, he was a son of Alton Richard Workman of Cowen, WV and the late Runa M. Workman. He was an employee of May Brothers Grading and Excavating Co. and was a member of the Baptist Church.
In addition to his his wife and father, he is survived by a son, Tracy Allen Workman, Evington; three daughters, Dana Renee Workman, Evington, Rebecca Hope Witt, Lynchburg, and Ursula Carol Workman, Concord; five grandchildren, Gregory Allen, Jeffrey Scott, Michael Joseph, Crystal Lynn and Kristen Hope Witt; tow brothers, Howard Leon, Cowen, WV, Hysel Carris Workman, Manasses; six sisters, Clara Lucille Rose of Birch River, WV, Ina Irene Gill of Leon, WV, Elsie M. Casto of Rustburg, Ruth Jean Key, Cowen, WV Virgina Eloise Maddox of Blue Ridge and Judy Ann Dunn of Rustburg.
The funeral service was conducted at 1:00 p.m, Monday in Whitten Timberlake Chapel by the Rev. Alan Mason. Interment will be in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
