Cowen - Howard L. Workman, 65, of Cowen died Wednesday, December 31, 1997, in Teays Valley after a long illness.

He was a Baptist and a former railroad supervisor.

Surviving: wife Bernice J. Stephenson Workman; daughters, Debra Workman of Cowen, Wilma Sharon Faunce of San Diego, CA, Dorma Stinnett of Lynchburg, VA; sons, Dale of Alma, Richard of Wallback, Grayling of Monks Corners, SC, Jack of Maysel, Fred of Clay, David of Lynchburg; stepdaughters, Sarah Boggess of Hurricane, Nina Taylor of Pocatalico, Mary Stephenson of Montgomery; father, Alton Workman of Cowen; brother, Hysel of Clay; sisters, Jean Key of Cowen, Lucille Rose of Birch River, Virginia Maddox of Blue Ridge, VA, Judy Dunnn of Rustburg, VA, Ina Gill of Leon; 12 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren.

The Service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Adams Funeral Home, Cowen, with the Rev. Rock Shamblin, officiating. Burial will be in the Ramsey Cemetery, near Enoch.
