Mrs. Mary Vines Greenway, 78, died at her residence on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009. She was born in Haralson County on May 30, 1931, a daughter of the late John L. Vines and Ethel Kerr Vines. She retired from U.S. Can after several years employment and was a member of Truth and Life Ministries. She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Greenway, Jr., on Dec. 12, 1977, and by several siblings. Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Lucy and Joseph Moawad, of Cedartown; two grandchildren; three stepsons, Wesley, Robert and Marion Greenway; sister Jeanette Callahan, of Tallapoosa, and Faye Crawford, of Cedartown; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Betty Vines, of Tallapoosa; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 23, in the chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with nephews Rev. John Vines and Rev. Robert Vines officiating. Interment followed in Northview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Keith Vines, Bradley Vines, Larry Anderson, Joel Beck, Jason Callahan, Joey Crawford, Daniel Baines and Aubrey Rakestraw. Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home of Rome had charge of the arrangements.
