Mr. Benjamin Franklin Vines, age 83, of Buchanan, Georgia, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017.

He was born April 2, 1933, in Buchanan, GA, to the late John and Ethel Kerr Vines.

Mr. Vines was a dedicated member of New Canaan Baptist Church and served in the US Army. He retired from Mead Packaging after 42 years. He enjoyed gardening, farming and his cattle.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Kelley Vines; a son and daughter-in-law, Benny and Shelia Vines; a grandson, Heath Vines; five sisters; and four brothers.

Frank is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Belinda and Bradley Bentley, of Buchanan; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Brad and Suzy Vines, of Tallapoosa and Barry Vines, of Woodland, AL; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jeanette and Charles Callihan, of Buchanan and Faye Crawford, of Cedartown; six grandchildren, Brandi Vines, Josh Cash, Treston Vines, Drake Vines, Brandall Bentley, and Bradee Lane Bentley; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 29, 2017, at 3:00PM at New Canaan Baptist Church with Pastor Lee Patrick and Pastor Jason Hudgens officiating. Music will be provided by Katie Williams and the New Canaan Church Choir.

Pallbearers serving will be: Brandon Walker, Will Knight, Graysen Knight, Richard McCollum, Auston Patrick, and Lucas Patrick.

Interment will follow in New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery.

Military services will be provided by Haralson County Veterans Association and Boy Scout Troop 123.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 5:00 to 9:00PM.
