Mrs A W Snyder, 92 years of age, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs W D Coates at 509 Seventh street southeast Thursday evening, June 3, at five o'clock. She had been in poor health since last November and death was caused by complications incident to old age. Eleanor Patrick, daughter of the late Amos and Margaret Patrick, was born August 19, 1843 at Huron county, Ohio. On May 2, 1882 she was united in marriage to Alanson W. Snyder. They lived in Winona for some time and came to Waseca county May 16, 1874. The deceased is survived by 10 children living in various parts of Minnesota. All but two of the children attended the funeral. Mr Snyder a retired C&NW engineer, passed away eight years ago, and one daughter, Ida Irene, and one son, Frank Elmer, preceded her in death. For more than 20 years Mrs Snyder wrote 8 or 10 letters a week to her children.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the home. Rev M Green, pastor of the Congregational church, officiated and interment was made in Woodville cemetery. Pall bearers were one son-in-law, W D Coates, and five grandchildren. Those from out of town attending the funeral included Mr and Mrs A R Snyder and family of Elmore; E G Snyder of New Ulm; Max Snyder of St Paul; L A Snyder of Emily; Mr. and Mrs R D Clark and Mr and Mrs H D Clow of Rochester; Mr and Mrs George Snyder of Staples; Mrs W L Emerson and daughter of Elmore; Clarence Snyder of Minneapolis; Mr and Mrs Clarence Moss of Worthington and Mr and Mrs Clarence Tetzloff.
