John Alden Leatham, beloved father and grandfather passed away April 25, 2003, of complications following heart surgery at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah.

He was born May 6, 1924 in Wellsville, Utah to John A. and Margaret Leatham. He married Coy Jensen on March 3, 1943 in Preston, Idaho. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. After Coys death, he married Alice Thomas on May 2, 1975, they were later divorced.

He lived his entire life in Wellsville. He attended schools in Wellsvile and South Cache. He worked nights at the sugar factory during beet harvest each fall. He was a custodian at Utah State University for 13 years.

But his greatest love was the farm. He enjoyed working with his father and sons on the farm. The farm was a special meeting place for family picnics and holidays. He enjoyed spending time at Island Park for the yearly outing with his brothers-in-law. He always touched someone through his great sense of humor. He had a kind and gentle heart. There was nothing he would not do for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He was a member of the Wellsville 7th Ward. He is survived by children, Sharon (Dale) McBride, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Diane (Danny) Nielsen of Wellsville, Stephen (Meredith) Leatham of Harrisville, Utah, Brent (Kaelyn) Laetham of Logan, 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren., sisters Ruth Siqueriors, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Evelyn (Dale) Taylor of Logan, Utah, Virginia Darley of Wellsville, Linda (Wayne) Singleton, of Brigham City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, one sister, a son, and a grandson.
